This picture of a storm system moving through Grand Forks was taken from my balcony. No retouching or photoshopping done...just transferred the photo file from RAW to JPEG. simplerich on Flickr: Posted a Photo
I saw these tiny snow men on the edge of a low wall at a parking garage in Grand Forks, North Dakota this morning on the way to work after moving the car. I thought they were cute. The skinny one seemed to be leaning towards the fat one, which reminded me of King of Queens and then I wondered how that show made it past the pilot. I never liked that show much. anastaz1a on Flickr: Posted a Photo
On Sunday, Menards doesn't open until noon so all of the Manitobans wait outside the door like crazy people until they unlock the doors. This photo represents only a fraction of the people that were standing outside.
We waited in the truck like normal folk. We assumed they wouldn't be selling out of drywall anytime that day.
On Saturday, we had gone to Menards just to make a detailed list of all we would be purchasing on Sunday. That way, we didn't have to look around on Sunday, just get a huge pallet cart and go around picking up what we needed. anastaz1a on Flickr: Posted a Photo
Building materials are at least 1/2 the price in the US. Only a short 2 hour drive and we are at Menards where Canadians go with huge trailers. Two people can take back $800 worth of goods as long as they stay 48 hours.
I don't think we could have fit one more thing in the truck. And as it was, we were $140 over our limit for goods we don't have to pay tax or duty on. Luckily, the border was really busy and they didn't bother making us pay. Yay! BIGG JOHN on Flickr: Posted a Photo

I don't ever fantasize about living in the US. It's a nice place to visit, the people are really nice but I can't get past the no free healthcare thing.
The one thing I *do* envy is their sales. Their ridiculous, ridiculous sales. This exact light tube is around $650 in Canada.
We bought a couple of wooden doors and we will probably make a trip back just to buy this. CurlingZone on Flickr: Posted a Photo
Brat Pack Radio played the Broken Broom Lounge at the World Men's Championships in GF. They're a fun, entertaining 80's band that play lots of your old faves from that decade...what a fun retro night! CurlingZone on Flickr: Posted a Photo

Saw these signs in Grand Forks, N.D. Nothing like boiling down an argument until it's incomprehensible and then posting it on a billboard.
Come to think of it, though, this attitude could answer the age-old chicken-or-egg question once and for all. Neither came first! They are the same! Bsivad on Flickr: Posted a Photo
